30 Things I've Learned: #10

-Impulsively buy a ticket to travel

After my dad left my mom and I didn't have a lot of money.  For my senior year spring break trip we decided to wait until right before and book a last minute trip.  We landed in Acapulco. Our hotel? Out of the way, sketchy, with a leaking sink and a shower we had to wear shoes in.  We switched the very next day.  At the time it was a hassel, looking back we laugh hysterically at the adventure.

For my 21st birthday I always wanted to go to Vegas with friends, only with a summer birthday all of my friends had plans.  So my mom and I found a deal to Paris and I spent my 21st birthday eating dinner in the Eiffel Tower and watching a show at the Moulin Rouge.  Fucking incredible.

I took a random week off this coming July.  I had no plans and no idea what I was going to do.  I just started looking up places every so often.  I mentioned this to my best friend and she goes "let's go to Utah!". Hmm.."okay!" So now we're planning our road trip around the Utah national parks.

I was lucky enough to have a mother with an adventurous spirit.  She instilled in me early on to "freak out, then figure it out".  It's with this knowledge I've always lived life under the reality that it will "all be okay". Literally. Even if "okay" isn't what I had initially thought. Most times it has turned out better.

Be open minded.  Be adventurous. Be fearless.
