30 Things I've Learned: #6

-Know at least one good bottle of wine

Full disclosure: I'm great at drinking wine, not exactly with knowing all of the specficis. Luckily I have enough wine connosseuir friends who have taught me along the way.  I have one bottle that I really like that is under $10.00 - Apothic Red and then a few others that are in the $40 - $50 range. Just like with champagne, there will be dinner parties, dates, and other occasions that will call for you to bring a good bottle of wine.  Don't show up with the Wal-Mart wine or two buck chuck, not because they're bad (they're actually fairly decent) but because everyone knows what they are, and everyone will know you invested roughly $3.00 in the event.  Don't be that person. Even if you are that person. Show up with a bottle of Evian over cheap wine...

 (OK, maybe Pellegrino).
