Travel Me Found....Columbus Style

Since a lot of what I write about is borderline morose and depressing, I thought I’d switch up the slit your wrists fun for something a little more lighthearted.

Today is:
1. Friday
2. The day I can drink wine
3. ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS FROM DALLAS IS COMING INTO TOWN!!!!!!!!!!
4. Friday
5. THE DAY I GET TO LEAVE WORK 1 HOUR EARLY TO PICK UP SAID BEST FRIEND!
6. The day I can drink wine
7. FRIDAY
8. Yah, you see where this is going

She will be my second visitor since I moved but the first came when I had only lived here about a month. Now that I've lived here 6 I feel much more acquainted with the “cool spots” in town and better suited to be a tour guide. I put together an itinerary for her – both to help her pack, help her get excited, and frankly to help me remember what in the hell I even wanted to show her.

COLUMBUS FUN FACTS

The Intelligent Communities Forum named C-bus as one of the seven most intelligent cities in the world.
It’s the 15th largest city in the country, right behind San Francisco. According to the Census, Columbus has 809,798 people living within its borders. The City by the Bay has 825,863 people. Think about that for a second.
Columbus is like a fast food test market Mecca. Companies test all their crazy ideas on Columbus to see how the rest of the country might like it. Sometimes it’s rad; sometimes it’s disgusting.
Back in 2010, the New York Times called Columbus the gay Mecca of the Midwest.
It is also a city for young professionals with an average age of 32.5 years, 6th youngest in the U.S.
