"Music expresses that which cannot be said....

and on which it is impossible to be silent."
                                  -Victor Hugo

In my early days it was my monogrammed tape player holder and walkman, then there was the CD case holder showing up in every car throughout my teenage years, followed by itunes and the ipod, until finally arriving at today's efficient and much more compact spotify and iphone combination.  No matter the vehicle for the song one thing has always remained true - I love music. Perhaps it was my mother playing her records or maybe it was the lack of cable and my need for a distraction, whatever the cause music has always been an outlet for me, an escape. Music allowed me to get lost.  For 3-5 minutes I could be dancing on a London stage with Mick and Keith, fighting for my right to party with the Beastie Boys or in an era gone by hearing it through the Grapevine with CCR.

 Run the World Tour
The other night I went to a concert and some random guy decided my friend was his cat post for the night and danced (rubbed) up on her the rest of the night. His friend tried to move up next to me, but a jump to the left and a step to the right and I killed that scenario. A couple months ago at another concert as I was waiting for it to begin - and standing alone - a guy decided this was our meet cute.  He started talking to me, I played along for a few minutes until the show began, but then he kept talking to me. Another jump to the left and step to the right and I was outta there (but at least I managed to get closer to the stage).

I get it, everyone's hoping to meet someone, even if it's yelling over a performer you paid to see perform. Some people go to a bar while on tinder while checking their match.com profile.  But unless you have a body like David Beckham and a brain like Stephen Hawking please don't include me - not when music is involved, especially when music is involved.  Just let me stand there. Let me get lost in the sounds, the lyrics, the lights.  Let me have my 5 minutes of dancing on that London Stage or dreaming on while walking this way.

So to those fellow concert goers who are looking for forever or for one night, save yourself the 50 bucks and just get on tinder....I'll let you know how the show is.....
